Awkward Strangers

Chalice Forecourt - 11am to 1145am

Awkward Strangers are a musical duo that should not be taken at all seriously. Andrew (ukulele and vocals) and Anke (clarinet, flute, toy piano, melodica, kazoo, recorder, tin whistle, improvised percussion, harmonica, button accordion, saw, cigar-box slide guitar and vocals) were individually awkward and strange for years before they started playing together in 2015.

They made their debut internationally at the West Kola Music Festival in Solomon Islands. These days they appear sporadically at the Citizens Circus in Fitzroy and Sloth Arts in Footscray, and attend regularly at the Club MUK open-mic ukulele nights at Bar 303.

They invite you to discover the awkward stranger within you.
